is co-owner, business manager and instructor at Aikido of Diablo Valley (ADV). She started training in Aikido in 1980 in Estes Park, Colorado.

In 1981, Dyer moved back to the San Francisco Bay Area, where she was raised, to pursue her interest in Aikido. Aikido of Diablo Valley opened its doors the week before. After a few years, she included business manager responsibilities to her training as a student. In 1986, Dyer was invited by Rowell sensei to join him as a co-owner of the dojo.

Shari Dyer helped introduce and teach Aikido in the old Soviet Union, and has taught conflict management courses, based on Aikido principles, for the city of Walnut Creek and for Unity Church.

She is especially interested in communicating Aikido's powerful inner principles, and their application in daily life. These principles include centering, relaxation, breath awareness, energy training, grounding, receiving and compassion.
